ahhh the smell of it

for nearly two weeks now I have been eating fresh fruit salad in vast quantities.
apples, grapes, kiwi, pineapple, melon(yuk) and strawberries(yum)
I feel fresh and lively.
I think all of the poisons have been flushed from my system by regular and frequent trips to the toilet.

no more monkey buisiness

Went down to monkey world yesterday,
Carly's treat for the oldies.
I didn't really want to go because of other projects but what a lovely day.
we were there for five hours and it was an absolute joy

Went down to pool quay today to test out the new camera.
This is my favourite of the day.

cat on a hot tin roof?

no
first thing this morning (about 11:45 since I''m off sick)
there was a little ginger cat sitting in the middle of the frozen pond,
I was telling Marie about it and how I didn't have the prescence of mind to take a picture when this chap wandered into the garden.

time waster

first day back to work today
this had to be the longest day in the history of all days and that was only up to nine a.m
time went a little faster in the afternoon when I stopped looking forward to the end of the day.
time is relevant and shows that if there truly is a god then I am in hell.
I am blessed with time badly spent dragging mercilessly
enjoyment is punished by flashing by at the speed of light.
this is the biggest part of the great question, the bit I really don't get.

If there is one thing I've learn't this year its that the more I learn the more there is to learn.
vilolin is going well.

safety in numbers ?

No one’s safe when freedom fails,
and good men rot in filthy jails,
and those who cried appease, appease,
are hung by those they tried to please.

new age of reason

I just did a quick mental calculation and to my surprise found that I have actually been bangin around for forty six years and not the youthful forty five mentioned on my profile
did I lose a year or gain some mathematical skill?

gone

where does all the time go?
It drives me nuts
I've taken the week off work and its tuesday already.
there is so much to do and learn and every time I look at the clock another day has sliped by.
I feel like I'm going to explode.
November 23

try again chris

I was listening to this

and realised that my violin may be a little out of tune.
November 13

viomalin

Couple of years ago Marie bought me a violin (Marie's always buying me noisy things so she can complain about the noise).
a gave it a bit of a go but whenever I got it out of the case it needed tuning which takes forever.
anyway its been sat in the corner of the room for ages (couple of years) so I got it out of the case, tuned it, learnt a few slick moves with my elbow and then............breakthrough,   I left it out.
next day I didn't have to tune it, picked it up, banged out a blazing rendition of "home boys home" and left it out again.
Marie said it makes your ears bleed.
Marie has a tongue as sharp as a razor.
bless her
So I'm going to learn the violin now, sometimes through the screeching it will make a pleasant sound.
I'm off to have a practice.

old hats

I know that this is old hat now but I just watched this to remind myself of what a bunch of selfish bastards are in charge of our world

world wide web

tried to get to the shed but there were loads of these little creatures spun out all over the garden
I couldn't interrupt their lunch so I  will leave it for a while.

Quick off the blocks

The boys and girls at CERN seem to have got the jump on me some how and finished their machine first.
still mustn't grumble, I expect mine will be more dangerous when it is finished.

blankety blank

Every now and then you have to start with a clean sheet.
Stop what you are doing, remind yourself of who you are and where you are going.
Take a breather before you crack on.

Today is one of those days.

Nearly

I sat down with the intention of having a right old blast at everything and everyone but I just can't do it anymore.
writing down negative thoughts is like adding to them in some way so I just can't do it.

discovered something today, well, yesterday now.
I was messing with the blue tooth function and discovered that I can use my phone as a mouse on my computer.

anyone for tennis

I had a cortisone injection in my elbow yesterday after work.
I was a little bit apprehensive about it (Marie told me it hurts)
didn't hurt a bit and came home feeling rather smug and superior.
as the evening wore on the pain started to kick in and Marie became smug(I told you so)
today I have limited use of my arm.
I now have an appreciation of the pain that Marie has felt with the six injections she has had to cope with in the past.

slapdash crank and rods

The next stage is to design a crankshaft.
I already knocked up a makeshift one to get a feel for it but its a little slapdash for my liking.
the con rods will be the hardest part because they are so small but have to be so acurate.
I have a few ideas about it in my head and reality is looming fast.

wonderful machine mk 2

I abandond the first attempt at the wonderful machine because it was throwing up too many problems.
A simple redesign of how the bores fit the crank case has solved removed the hassle of making the honing machine for a while.

Marie took these photos of the chafinch and its chick.
she tells me it took a couple of days to get close to the Adult but the chick didn't seem too bothered.
the mother and another chick were about too but a bit camera shy.

Hi Chris, thanks for visiting my space and for your comments.  You're right in what you say, but I still think it's sad that our language is being bastardised in such a bullish way and I simply cannot see the logic or why anyone can apply the term 'progress' to that act. Can no one can stop this rot?  When I'm reading, I like to be able to make sense of the words in front of me without having to work too much at it so I apply the same logic when I write ie. to make reading as pleasureable an experience as I can, part of which entails not making the reader have to work too hard.  C'est tres simple.  I haven't had a chance to look over your space yet but I will get around to it soon.  Thanks again :-)
