September 16 MagicThe magic has started happening in the shed now; I was trying to work out how to hone the bottom of the bores. The drill I used to go through the crankcase was smaller than the bore so the base of the cylinders needed sizing. I first tried filing them but that would take forever so I made a makeshift flapwheel and that was just not man enough. I thought about it for a while and decided to remake the crankcase but this time sinking the cylinders into the holes before welding.
In the mean time I have started designing and making a honing tool, this is when I realised, It’s not about what I’m making but how to solve all the problems of making it. September 11 crank caseI'm back in the shed now after a considerable break and have just completed the bulk of the crank case.
the welding still needs some practice but its getting there. I've got to hone the bores and balance the whole lot so it spins nicely.
Haven't decided whether to power it with petrol or compressed air yet.
