    Resurrection

A while ago I bought visual basic, I thought it would be a handy tool in my arsenal and I did a short course at college years ago on the same subject, which I never finished, you know how it is.

Anyway, I dragged my old computer out of the attic and tried to set it up in the shed with visions of web cams, Auto cad, and robotic programming stuff and of course visual basic. Unfortunately the hard drive didn’t survive the storage or my Neanderthal attempts at thumping it into life.  Fortunately I had squeezed a second hard drive into it all those years ago so I set the jumpers on the back to master and fired it up but as it was loading windows drivers it kept stalling.  I think it has bad sectors or something, anyway it’s getting a little beyond my knowledge so I’ll try to find a new hard drive from somewhere or maybe even a laptop.  Second thoughts scratch the laptop I won’t learn anything that way

Ha.  I’ve just been out and bought some tiny little torx bit screw drivers so that I can gain access to the insides of the hard drives, lets see what we can do with these bad boys now then.

I’ve just taken the lid off the obviously broken hard drive and a more beautiful piece of engineering I have never seen. Shame it had to break really but then I wouldn’t have got to see inside it.

    Vernier

I’ve just been to Blackbush market with Marie and bought a Vernier calliper for ten quid and a micrometer for five. Obviously they are not the best tools in the world but they have been sadly lacking in the shed and are welcome additions to the tool kit.

    Slowly slowly catchy monkey.

    Aesculus hippocastanum

I’ve decided to grow a Bonsai tree so I’ve rescued a sapling from under the trees out back. If I leave it any longer the council will mow them down with their mowers.  I think a Horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) is probably too big a tree to be doing this with but I can always plant it out in the wilds somewhere if it gets too big. If it dies it would have done anyway.

    shadows 2 (the movie)

seems my vision is back to normal. I must have been over tired.

    shadows

What is it when you keep seeing things out of the corner of your eye?

I think I’ve got pretty good peripheral vision and I also think that I am quite aware of what is going on around me but for the last couple of days I’ve been seeing shadows, lights and people out of the corner of my eye only to find nothing when I take a proper look.

    It’s driving me nuts.

especialy the full moon. It looks like its on fire.

    lazy days

I have done nothing constructive the last week or so and I am thoroughly ashamed.

I’ve spent the entire free time available practicing juggling, sitting at the computer, twiddling sticks around and fishing weed out of the pond although I did spend the weekend before last helping my sister and brother in law plumb in their new kitchen. (Not so guilty now).
